- Highway Charitable Solicitation Application
- Nonprofit organizations may apply to the Board of Selectmen for permission to conduct coin drop highway solicitations on Town highways. The application can be downloaded and must be submitted to the Town Manager for inclusion on the agenda for a Board of Selectmen meeting which are held the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Traffic control cones are required and specific information concerning the layout of these devices is available at the Town Manager's Office. - The Chester Alarm Ordinance requires you to register the alarm system you have installed at your business or residence. Please click HERE for the Alarm Ordinance. The fee is $50, which includes $25 for police and $25 for fire. If you have not registered your alarm with the Town, please download a copy of the Registration Form and email it to [email protected] or mail to:

- Please use this application when you wish to connect your property to the Town's sewer system. A fee is required; please see the Permit Fee Schedule for the fee amount. For further information, please contact the Town Manager.

Zoning:
Please download and complete any zoning forms that you need. Applications may be hand-delivered, dropped in the town hall after-hours drop-box, mailed, or scanned and emailed to the zoning administrator. Be sure to sign your application. Fees may be paid by cash, check payable to the Town of Chester, or credit card by calling or visiting the town clerk. A 3% service fee is added to credit card payments.
- Do I Need a State Permit? The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources provides a Permit Navigator questionnaire at https://vermont.force.com/permitnavigator/s/ for you to determine what state environmental permits you might need. For building code and safety services contact the Vermont Division of Fire Safety in Springfield, Vermont at 802-885-8883. The town Development Review Board (DRB) may require a printed ANR Permit Navigator Results Summary and/or a Construction Permit or Inspection Report from the Division of Fire Safety prior to a DRB hearing.
