Southern Windsor/Windham Counties Solid Waste Management District is a union municipal district dedicated to providing solid waste management authority, services, and planning to its member towns. The District was chartered in 1982 and currently serves fourteen Vermont towns. This event is partially funded by a grant from the State of Vermont.
The Southern Windsor/Windham Counties Solid Waste Management District is sponsoring a free event for the collection and safe disposal of household hazardous waste on Tuesday, September 15. Only residents and small businesses from Andover, Athens, Baltimore, Cavendish, Chester, Grafton, Ludlow, Plymouth, Reading, Rockingham, Springfield, Weathersfield, West Windsor, and Windsor may participate. No preregistration for residents. Businesses must pre-register and will be charged for disposal costs. The collection will be held at the Springfield Transfer Station from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Bring in a mercury fever thermometer and receive a new digital fever thermometer.
